RaineeInspired by the spectacular wildlife and landscape of her birth, Rainee returned to Kenya in 1993 following her studies in Natural History Illustration from Bournemouth and Poole College of Art, England. With a deep concern for the plight of both wildlife and their natural habitats, Rainee's compositions are borne out of her love for her country and her wish to portray it's immensely diverse natural and cultural heritage. Rainee has successfully exhibited jointly with other artists since 1993 but it was in 1998, her first solo show that she had great success, with all fifty pieces being sold in the first two hours of opening the three day exhibition. Consequently she has been kept busy with commissions from clients worldwide and has built up a large following. Rainee has dedicated the last two years to building up work for an unique
exhibition in San Diego, California. Rainee and her husband Gerard, live
in the world famous Masai Mara, here they own and run Rekero
Tented Camp so Rainee is surrounded by her subjects. Her attention
to detail is her trade mark and as a result her work truly seems alive. |
